Herman-Miller – Shelf of Tables

With Herman-Miller’s UK design office based in the Bath area we’ve enjoyed a long-lasting relationship with them, working on a number of their development projects.

More recently we were brought in to develop a stored-energy device for a dynamic shelving system. The project was picked up by the design team at the RCA graduation show, and we worked in partnership with designer Matej Chabera to reconfigure the project towards mass-manufacture and improve on the original counterweight system. The extremely compact mechanism we developed was concealed in the top and bottom brace of the furniture allowed the user to tune the lift force to effortlessly move the desks up and down.
