BA Skylark

Lighter, simpler and more robust. That was the outcome from our recent project with BA to develop their future fully-flat capable seats.

Just going flat isn’t enough, we worked hard to tailor the design to match data on the best seating geometries to ensure maximum comfort. Starting from the ground up we explored numerous different approaches, producing scale models, plywood test-rigs and full-scale card models to ensure every detail was considered. We even consulted closely with crash-test approval engineers to ensure that the design was fully grounded in the technical requirements. Finally, resolving it all down to produce a single fully-featured working prototype. Machined and fabricated by our network of suppliers, the final prototype was assembled and tested in-house.

Calling on close links with local electrical engineers we were able to integrate full smart-control to the project by the addition of a touch screen tablet and customised GUI.
